CENTERING MUSIC “As We Gather”
CALL TO WORSHIP based on Psalm 95 Carol Behrmann
If today we hear God’s voice in our hearts, we must follow it.
If today we hear God’s voice in our hearts, we must follow it.
Come, everyone, let’s sing to the Lord.
Let us tell the world that God has saved us.
Let us thank God from the bottom of our hearts.
Let us sing songs of praise to God.
If today we hear God’s voice in our hearts, we must follow it.
Come, let us bow down our heads and pray to God.
Let us kneel before the God who made us.
He is our God. We are God’s people. God loves us.
If today we hear God’s voice in our hearts, we must follow it.
Today if you hear the voice of God in your hearts, follow it.
Do not grumble or argue the way the people in the desert did
when everything didn’t go the way they expected it to.
If today we hear God’s voice in our hearts, we must follow it.
OPENING PRAYER
+HYMN “Many and Great, O God Are Thy Things” Hymn #271
+CONFESSION
… Silent confession…
Lord, you are a God who keeps promises.
In our prayers and songs we say
that we want to be Christians,
but then we forget our promises.
Our actions do not match up with our words.
We say mean things to other people,
we hurt their feelings,
we think of ourselves first,
and, worst of all, we ignore you.
Lord, forgive us and hear our prayer
for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
+ASSURANCE OF GOD’S LOVE AND FORGIVENESS Ezekiel 36:25-26
… Friends, believe the good news:
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!
+RESPONSE “Lord, Be Glorified”
+PASSING OF THE PEACE
…The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
Offer the peace of Christ to one another in word and with a handshake, a hug,
or other sign of peace.

+AFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH based on Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd.
He takes care of all my needs.
The Lord is my shepherd.
He takes care of all my needs.
The Lord watches over me. He takes care of all my needs.
He gives me a home to live in. He gives me water to drink.
He gives meaning to my life.
The Lord is my shepherd.
He takes care of all my needs.
He guides me along the right way.
Even when I’m walking by myself in a strange place,
I don’t feel scared because I know that the Lord is with me
to help me and give me courage.
The Lord is my shepherd.
He takes care of all my needs.
He gives me food to eat. I always have enough to drink.
He has blessed me with many things.
I will never be able to repay him for his kindness.
The Lord is my shepherd.
He takes care of all my needs.

+CLOSING PRAYER
Father,
as we go to our homes and our work
this coming week,
by the power and promise of your Holy Spirit,
Open our ears
to hear what you are saying to us
in the things that happen to us
and in the people we meet.
Open our eyes
to see the needs
of people around us.
Open our hands
to do our work well,
to help when help is needed.
Open our lips
to tell others the good news of Jesus
and bring comfort, happiness,
and laughter to other people.
Open our minds
to discover new truth
about you and the world.
Open our hearts
to love you and our neighbors
as you have loved us in Jesus. Amen.
